On August 13, the Estonian Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur and Gundbert Scherf, Co-founder and Co-CEO of European Defence-AI company Helsing, signed a joint statement to affirm a shared commitment to advancing Estonia's defence capabilities through the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

Helsing will expand its operations within Estonia and the Baltic region and make significant investments in the sum of EUR 70 million.

The FCAS Air Combat Cloud will bring real-time intelligence to the forefront by harnessing the networked capabilities of different aircraft and platforms. Innovations in AI, big data processing and cyber will help make defence a truly collaborative mission.

Defence AI company Helsing announced that it has raised EUR 450 million in a Series C financing round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Elad Gil, Accel, Saab, Lightspeed, Plural and Greenoaks.
