Saab secures contract for combat system on Colombian Navy’s new frigate

Saab has signed a contract with Dutch shipbuilder Damen Naval to supply the combat system for the Colombian Navy’s new Plataforma Estratégica de Superficie (PES) frigate.

The German Navy will enhance its fleet with two more F126 multipurpose frigates, increasing the total to six. The Budget Committee of the German Bundestag recently approved this procurement, and the contract was signed on June 19 by the Procurement Organisation of the German Armed Forces (BAAINBw) and Dutch shipbuilder Damen Naval.

The German Navy will enhance its fleet with two more F126 multipurpose frigates, increasing the total to six.

Damen Naval has contracted Dutch company Alewijnse for the complete systems integration on board the Anti-Submarine Warfare frigates (ASWF). The two companies have signed a contract for the design, engineering, installation, and integration of all electrical systems, including power distribution and lighting installations of the four new frigates being built for the Netherlands and Belgium.

Damen Naval will partner with Hatenboer-Water on all freshwater systems on board the four Anti-Submarine Warfare Frigates (ASWF) that Damen Naval is building for the Netherlands and Belgium.
