Hanwha Aerospace today announced that its subsidiary, Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA), has signed a USD 2.4 billion (USD) contract with the Australian government for the delivery of 129 Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), including the development and delivery of the training system components and support system components.

Safran integrating the PASEO Joint Fires on Hanwha’s Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle

Safran has been chosen to supply PASEO Joint Fires advanced day and night panoramic sight for integration on the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).

The U.S. Army selected General Dynamics Land Systems’ (GDLS) all-new Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) vehicle with Safran Optics 1’s PASEO Commander’s Independent Tactical Viewer (CITV) long-range panoramic targeting sight. The Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) award, valued at $1.14 billion, will provide the U.S. Army with 96 vehicles over the next four years. It also includes test support, logistics support and systems technical support.
