States in Europe almost doubled their imports of major arms (+94 per cent) between 2014–18 and 2019–23, according to new data on international arms transfers published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
Revenues from sales of arms and military services by the 100 largest companies in the industry totalled $597 billion in 2022, 3.5 per cent less than 2021 in real terms.
