Canada advances next-generation A330MRTT tanker programme

The Canadian Department of National Defence has announced progress in its programme to enhance multi-role transport and air-to-air refuelling capabilities.

The Multinational Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) Fleet (MMF) has grown with the arrival of its ninth aircraft. This addition highlights the strong collaboration between the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) and the Multinational Multirole Tanker Transport Unit (MMU).

The official Transfer of Title was signed by NSPA’s MRTT Programme Manager, André van Nispen, at Airbus Defence and Space headquarters in Getafe, Spain.

Boeing has been awarded a USD 2.38 billion Lot 11 contract by the U.S. Air Force to build 15 additional KC-46A Pegasus aerial refuelers. With this new order, Boeing now has contracts globally for 168 KC-46A aircraft, a platform recognised for its advanced multi-mission refueling capabilities.

Boeing has been awarded a USD 2.38 billion Lot 11 contract by the U.S. Air Force to build 15 additional KC-46A Pegasus aerial refuelers.

On July 11, Metrea announced that it has completed the acquisition of the French Air and Space Forces (FASF) KC-/C-135 aerial refueling fleet. In an agreement signed on 17 May 2024, Metrea has agreed to acquire all fourteen of the FASF C-135 tankers, including both the KC-/C-135FR and KC-/C-135RG variants. The FASF is divesting this fleet as they transition to A330-based tankers.
