Thai F-16 fighters conduct precision strikes on Cambodian indirect fire sites

By Defence Industry Europe

The Royal Thai Air Force deployed two F-16 fighter jets on 26 July 2025 to strike Cambodian military positions near Phu Ma Kua and Ta Muen Thom Temple. The operation was launched in response to intelligence indicating that Cambodian forces had prepared indirect fire weapons aimed at Thai territory.

The F-16s, alongside two Swedish-made Gripens, were tasked with neutralising Cambodian artillery and personnel reportedly operating in the contested areas. The Royal Thai Air Force confirmed that all aircraft involved in the mission returned safely to base following successful strikes on both targets.

Thailand’s current fleet of F-16s includes 36 single-seat F-16A and 14 two-seat F-16B aircraft. These aircraft remain in service from an original total of 52 F-16A/Bs acquired through four separate orders from the United States, along with seven additional units donated by Singapore.
