“Discussed with the President (Trump) licenses for the production of interceptors for ‘Patriots’ and several other ideas that could help,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram. The Office of the President of Ukraine said the talks covered implementation of Trump’s decision to provide Ukraine with the relevant production licenses.
The Ukrainian side did not disclose potential production volumes, timelines or the specific interceptor variants covered by the talks. Zelenskyy also said the two sides discussed other measures that could strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities.
The Patriot discussions followed Zelenskyy’s meeting with representatives of Lockheed Martin, a major U.S. defense contractor involved in missiles for the Patriot system. Zelenskyy said the talks with the company focused on expanding cooperation through joint production and technology exchange.

“I met with the team of the Lockheed Martin defense company – one of the strongest enterprises in the United States, with which we have been cooperating for a long time,” Zelenskyy said. “Lockheed Martin is the company that produces ATACMS, HIMARS, F-16s, and missiles for Patriot systems.”
Zelenskyy said Ukrainian and Lockheed Martin teams are already working on specific options for moving toward co-production. He linked those discussions directly to Patriot capabilities and other defense systems.
“Today, we discussed further development of our cooperation – joint production and technology exchange. Ukraine has a lot to share with those who help us protect lives,” Zelenskyy said.
“We spoke about our joint capabilities related to Patriots and other systems. Our teams are already working on specific solutions to move to co-production as quickly as possible and increase our capabilities to protect lives.”
The White House meeting also covered diplomatic efforts. The Ukrainian presidency said both sides considered it important to reinvigorate the diplomatic process and agreed that their teams would coordinate further communication.
Zelenskyy thanked the United States for “everything we are doing together to protect the lives of Ukrainians and achieve peace.” He also expressed condolences over the death of Senator Lindsey Graham, saying: “He was a true friend of Ukraine.”
