To address the delays, personnel from the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s F-15 System Program Office worked closely with Boeing and DCMA. Their efforts enabled the delivery of F-15EX aircraft 14 and 15 to Portland on 19 August and 16 November, followed by aircraft 16 less than three weeks later.
The F-15EX Eagle II is a key element of the Air Force’s fighter modernisation strategy, intended to replace ageing F-15C/D aircraft. As a dual-role fighter, it is designed to enhance lethality and survivability while acting as a force multiplier against current and future threats.
Timely delivery of the aircraft supports the Oregon Air National Guard’s homeland defence responsibilities, including aerospace control and air sovereignty for U.S. Northern Command. “The rapid turnaround highlights the strength and dedication of the joint government and industry team,” said Col. Jessica Kashka, F-15EX Program Manager, adding, “Their success ensures that the nation’s warfighters receive the advanced capabilities of the F-15EX, reinforcing the Air Force’s commitment to maintaining a ready and lethal force.”
