The first delivery order under the contract will supply 400 PrSM Increment 1 missiles, marking a significant step in modernising Army long-range precision capabilities. PrSM Increment 1 is set to replace the aging ATACMS system, offering increased range and lethality for field artillery units.
“This contract award represents a critical investment in the Army’s future, ensuring that our soldiers have the most advanced and reliable capabilities to accomplish their missions,” said Maj. Gen. Frank Lozano, Program Executive Officer for Missiles and Space. “By partnering with industry, we are strengthening our warfighters’ readiness and reinforcing our commitment to innovation, modernization, and national defense,” he added.
The Precision Strike Missile is designed to support combined joint all-domain operations by attacking, neutralising, suppressing, and destroying a wide range of targets. This next-generation system enhances operational effectiveness and flexibility across various combat environments.
The contract award was led by Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) in coordination with the Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal. It reflects the Army’s broader efforts to accelerate modernisation through close collaboration with defence industry partners.
