During their months-long deployment, 1-14th FAR will operate under the command of the 41st Field Artillery Brigade, the U.S. Army’s only field artillery brigade stationed in Europe. “This deployment is about partnership, deterrence, and readiness,” said a 75th FAB spokesperson.
1-14th FAR is the only battalion in III Armored Corps equipped with the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), capable of firing Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System rockets, Precision Strike Missiles, and the Army Tactical Missile System. These assets are used to support large-scale combat operations and enhance U.S. firepower in the European theatre.
The 41st FAB provides close support and long-range precision fires for joint and multinational exercises, including Dynamic Front and Saber Guardian. While in Germany, 1-14th FAR will integrate into these operations under V Corps, the forward-deployed U.S. Army corps responsible for all OAR rotational units since 2021.
V Corps oversees a range of U.S. forces in Europe, including the 41st FAB, 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, 2d Cavalry Regiment, and rotating units. This command structure ensures effective coordination, boosts operational readiness, and strengthens alliances through joint training with NATO partners.
