U.S. Army enhances firepower in Europe with upgraded M270A2 systems

The U.S. Army’s 41st Field Artillery Brigade has become the first unit to be fully equipped with the M270A2 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS).

On December 2, Magnus-Valdemar Saar, Director General of the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (ECDI), signed a contract with the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) for the procurement of the HIMARS multiple rocket launcher systems, which is an important capacity boost in the development of Estonia’s indirect fire capability.

“The HIMARS’ mobility allows us to reposition quickly in response to dynamic combat situations. It’s a game-changer for us,” said Col. Frank Maxwell, commander of the 41st Field Artillery Brigade.
