Ukraine adopts new domestically produced B-1 drones for military use

By Defence Industry Europe

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has officially adopted the domestically produced B-1 unmanned aerial system for use within the Armed Forces. The decision was announced by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

The B-1 drones are described as ultra-lightweight ‘bombers’ designed to engage concentrations of enemy personnel, automotive equipment, armoured vehicles, and military targets both at the front and behind enemy lines. “This ‘bomber’ can remain airborne for several hours,” the Directorate noted.

The UAVs are equipped to carry various types of ammunition and are powered by a low-noise, high-performance engine. These capabilities allow the system to conduct missions with reduced detection risk.

Another key feature of the B-1 system is its enhanced resistance to enemy electronic warfare. “A notable feature of the system is its quick deployment and retraction, which lowers the risk to the crew during operations,” the Ministry added.
