The U.S. Army awarded the Javelin Joint Venture (a joint venture between Raytheon Technologies and Lockheed Martin) an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) production contract with a total ceiling of $7.2 billion for fiscal years 2023 to 2026 for the Javelin weapon system and associated equipment and services. This award includes a base year with authorized funding to $1.02 billion and production ramp support to increase Javelin All Up Round (AUR) production to 3,960 per year by late 2026.

The United States Department of State has approved Poland’s request regarding the possible acquisition of another batch of FGM-148F Javelin anti-tank guided missiles. The approved document enables the potential purchase of 253 Lightweight Command Launch Units (LwCLU) and 2,506 FGM-148F Javelin missiles.

The package also covers simulators, spare parts, diagnostic devices, as well as training and support services. The maximum value of the potential contract is estimated at 780 million U.S. dollars.

Should the agreement be finalised, the contractors would be RTX and Lockheed Martin, which cooperate in the production and development of Javelin missiles. To date, Poland has acquired 60 CLU units, 50 LwCLU units and around 680 FGM-148F Javelins through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) procedure.

Deliveries of the first FGM-148F Javelins began in spring 2021 and are scheduled to conclude by the end of 2026. The missiles are currently operated, among others, by the anti-tank units of the Polish Territorial Defence Forces.
