A new batch of M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams main battle tanks has arrived in Poland. The vehicles will soon be delivered to the Polish Land Forces.

According to a social media post published by Pawel Bejda, Deputy Defence Minister of Poland, the new batch of Abrams tanks consists of 19 vehicles. As recently reported by Defence Industry Europe, the first batch, consisting of 29 tanks, was delivered to Poland in January this year.

This means that the United States has already delivered 48 newly produced M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams main battle tanks to Poland. The deliveries are being carried out under an intergovernmental contract between Poland and the United States, signed in April 2022, shortly after the Russian Federation invaded Ukraine.

Under this agreement, the Polish Land Forces will receive a total of 250 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams main battle tanks, along with additional support vehicles. These include 26 M88A2 Hercules recovery vehicles and 17 M107kJ tactical bridge systems.

The Polish Land Forces already operate 116 second-hand M1A1 FEP tanks, acquired under a separate contract with financial support from Washington. The agreement was signed in 2022, and the deliveries were completed in July 2024.
