Flagship Abraham Lincoln hosted senior military and government leaders, underscoring the carrier’s role as both a strategic and economic asset in U.S. defence. “I am incredibly proud of the Abraham Lincoln crew and their performance throughout Northern Edge,” said Capt. Daniel Keeler, commanding officer of Abraham Lincoln.
Carrier Air Wing Nine contributed over 3,000 flight hours and 1,100 sorties, reflecting the importance of naval aviation to U.S. industrial supply chains, particularly through the F-35 and Super Hornet programmes. “The professionalism and adaptability of our team proved once again that this Air Wing is ready to deliver combat power anytime, anywhere, no matter how contested the environment,” said Capt. William “Tank” Frank, Commander, Carrier Air Wing Nine.
Alongside the carrier, three guided-missile destroyers executed operations that depend on a robust shipbuilding sector and sustain local economies through ongoing maintenance and modernisation contracts. “Our destroyers demonstrated the readiness, lethality, and teamwork required to fight and win as part of a carrier strike group,” said Capt. Allison Christy, commanding officer, Destroyer Squadron 21.
The exercise highlighted the U.S. Navy’s dual role in safeguarding both national security and economic stability. For 250 years, America’s Navy has defended global freedom and commerce, with its carrier strike groups remaining central to both military power and the industries that underpin it.
