Accroding to DSCA, Poland has requested to purchase various advanced systems, including 58 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars, 73 Integrated Viper Electronic Warfare Suites, and missile test vehicles, along with other critical avionics upgrades. The deal also encompasses technical support, software, and maintenance equipment necessary for these improvements.
This sale aims to enhance Poland’s defence capabilities, supporting NATO and reinforcing regional security. The modernisation of its F-16 fleet is expected to bolster Poland’s air defence and surveillance operations, ensuring it can absorb these upgrades seamlessly into its existing force structure.
Lockheed Martin, based in Greenville, South Carolina, will be the principal contractor for this project. No additional U.S. government personnel will be required in Poland, and there is no anticipated impact on U.S. defence readiness.
This potential sale underlines the United States’ commitment to supporting the security and stability of a key NATO ally. Final contract terms and costs will be determined after negotiations, DSCA said in a statement.
