Paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division executed a Joint Forcible Entry (JFE) training jump from a C-17 Globemaster III in Norway on May 13, 2025, as part of Swift Response 25 during DEFENDER 25. This exercise showcased the Division's rapid deployment capabilities, operational readiness, and interoperability with NATO allies in a complex joint environment.

DEFENDER 25, running from May 11 to June 24, 2025, brings together U.S. forces and troops from 29 Allied and partner nations to conduct large-scale combat training across Europe and the Arctic. The operation enhances NATO lethality and U.S. Army global deterrence by building unit readiness, demonstrating long-range fires capabilities, and strengthening multinational command structures.

Three major exercises—Swift Response, Immediate Response, and Saber Guardian—are central to DEFENDER 25, integrating Allied forces across multiple domains and emphasizing combined readiness to respond to crisis and conflict.
