Airbus and HENSOLDT partner to upgrade German Airborne Weapon Systems Electronic Warfare Center

Airbus Defence and Space, in close partnership with German defence company HENSOLDT, will equip the “German Airborne Weapon Systems Electronic Warfare Center” with cutting-edge software and hardware. This collaboration aims to optimise mission-specific electronic warfare support for German Armed Forces aircraft, enhancing the adaptability and effectiveness of their weapon systems.

 

Starting in January 2025, the agreement introduces advanced mission-critical software solutions designed to improve automation and reduce response times. Airbus’ state-of-the-art operating systems will enhance usability, integrate future-ready technology, and support seamless mission preparation and execution.

HENSOLDT will contribute essential IT services and deployable hardware, including server hardware and workstation computers tailored for mobile operations. Together, these upgrades ensure the centre’s systems remain compatible with advanced weapon platforms and adaptable to emerging threats.

“The collaboration between Airbus and HENSOLDT marks a significant step in strengthening Germany’s defence capabilities, ensuring mission effectiveness and readiness in a complex and technology-driven defence environment,” HENSOLDT said in a press release.
