Turkish defence company ASELSAN showcased its latest smart munitions and mortar systems at IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi, held from 17-21 February. The exhibition marked the global debut of several advanced weapon systems designed to enhance precision and effectiveness in modern combat.

A key highlight was the introduction of the ATOM 25 ABM, ASAF 155 CCF, and ASAF 155 MOFA smart munitions. These systems are designed to improve battlefield accuracy and multi-target engagement, particularly against emerging threats such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The ATOM 25 ABM is an airburst munition engineered to maximise first-hit success against UAVs. Its programmable detonation and kinetic warhead ensure high performance even in electronic warfare environments.

The ASAF 155 CCF is designed to improve artillery accuracy through course correction and air braking technology. This system enhances first-round hit probability, even in challenging operational conditions.

The ASAF 155 MOFA provides additional versatility with a multi-option fuse. It allows for adaptable targeting in various tactical situations, including proximity and time-programmed detonations.

ASELSAN also presented its ALKAR 100/81 and ALKAR 110/81 mortar systems, which incorporate automated fire control and GPS-guided targeting. These features significantly improve accuracy while reducing the need for additional personnel.

Both mortar systems are designed for rapid deployment and “shoot and scoot” tactics, enabling quick repositioning to avoid counterattacks. Their mobility and precision make them well-suited for modern, fast-paced combat scenarios.
