AM General showcases JLTV A2 tactical vehicle at IDEX 2025 as production begins

By Defence Industry Europe

AM General, a leading manufacturer of tactical military vehicles, will present its latest JLTV A2 at the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) 2025. The event, taking place from 17 to 21 February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, marks the first public display of the next-generation vehicle since production officially began.

In less than two years, AM General has constructed a modern manufacturing facility dedicated to producing the JLTV A2. This facility is now operational, delivering advanced tactical vehicles designed to enhance mobility, protection, and efficiency for military forces worldwide.

John Chadbourne, AM General’s Executive Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer, emphasised the importance of IDEX as a platform for engaging with global defence customers. He highlighted that showcasing the JLTV A2 allows customers to witness the extensive improvements made to the vehicle firsthand.

Developed in collaboration with the U.S. Army, the JLTV A2 incorporates over 250 engineering upgrades to enhance performance and reliability. Key improvements include reduced interior and exterior noise levels, better corrosion protection, and improved fuel efficiency.

The vehicle’s versatility is further enhanced by integrating the Hornet Air Guard Remote-Controlled Weapon System (RCWS) with a Counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) capability. This addition provides anti-drone detection and neutralisation, offering advanced surveillance and self-protection features through air-burst ammunition and an independent drone detection ring.

Production of the JLTV A2 is already in progress, with initial deliveries expected in the second quarter of 2025. AM General representatives will be available at IDEX to discuss international procurement through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programme and continued support for existing JLTV fleets.
