AM General has demonstrated its light tactical vehicle capabilities to the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) at UTAC Millbrook Proving Grounds, as it announced a new strategic collaboration with Marshall Land Systems. The event forms part of preparations for the forthcoming UK Land Mobility Programme (LMP) solicitation.

The US-based defence company presented three key platforms during the day-long demonstration: the HUMVEE, the Saber light tactical truck, and the updated Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV A2). The vehicles were tested across challenging terrain to highlight their adaptability, ruggedness and handling.

“We couldn’t be more excited to show the UK MoD what our light tactical vehicles are capable of,” said John Chadbourne, AM General Executive Vice President of Business Development. “This demonstration along with our collaboration with Marshall Land Systems are just the beginning of our efforts to support the UK Armed Forces and their mobility capabilities.”

The collaboration with Marshall Land Systems is expected to enhance regional development and support long-term participation in the UK defence ecosystem. AM General brings engineering and manufacturing strength, while Marshall contributes extensive experience in vehicle assembly, systems integration and in-service support for the British Armed Forces.

“Together with AM General we are developing a compelling case for a collaboration that will combine the best of our respective capabilities,” said Gareth Williams, CEO of Marshall Land Systems. “This demonstration day is an ideal forum to outline our shared vision for a new generation of mobility for the British Army as we continue to build on our ongoing support for the UK Armed Forces and our proven pedigree of successful industry partnerships, based on more than a century of British engineering excellence.”

AM General, which operates major facilities across Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, provides military and commercial vehicles to over 70 countries. The company anticipates receiving an industry brief on the UK’s Land Mobility Programme in November 2025.
