The contract is valued at 4.65 billion dollars and includes vehicle deliveries with a deadline of February 9, 2028.
As stated in the official U.S. Department of Defense announcement, two proposals were received for the production of JLTV. It can be presumed that the second proposal came from Oshkosh Defense, which until recently was the sole producer of JLTV.
In February of this year, AM General was designated as the second JLTV producer, which sparked protests from Oshkosh. According to the previous contract worth £8.66 billion, AM General is set to deliver over 20,000 JLTVs and nearly 10,000 accompanying trailers.
The value of the recently signed contract suggests that it may involve the delivery of thousands of vehicles and trailers.
