American Rheinmetall said the RCH 155, offered with partner KNDS, is its proposed solution for the U.S. Army’s Mobile Tactical Cannon program. The company said the program requires a system that combines range, mobility and survivability in a highly deployable platform.

The RCH 155 is built on combat-proven architecture and equipped with a fully automated 155mm L52 artillery system. American Rheinmetall said the system is designed to deliver rapid, accurate and sustained fires while keeping soldiers protected inside an armored capsule.

The company said the RCH 155’s mobility enables shoot-and-scoot operations. This is intended to reduce exposure to counterfire in high-threat environments.

According to American Rheinmetall, the system offers a high level of automation and reduces crew burden. The company also said the RCH 155 has “a revolutionary shoot on the move capability that is unmatched by any other artillery system.”

American Rheinmetall said the RCH 155 represents a “generational leap in mobile tactical fires capability.” The company described it as a modern, adaptable and highly survivable solution to support U.S. Army maneuver forces across the future battlefield.
