The concept of air defence radars in terms of ranges and altitudes may be perceived differently based on the air defence doctrine of every single nation.
However, Aselsan, with a long lasting heritage in radars more than three decades, is proud of identifying, classifying aerial targets regardless of their Radar Cross Section (RCS) including mini/micro Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs) to stealth aircrafts.
Within this scope, in the first layer, ACAR anti drone radar detects aerial threats from very short ranges in order to keep strategic premises safe.
In parallel with this concept, MAR “Mobile Search Radar” and AKR “Fire Control Radar” are the main pillars of short-range air defence against tactical UAVs and rotary wing platforms.
In the next layer, as a gap filler, KALKAN plays a vital role in medium range air defence for 3D detection and tracking fighters, helicopters, UAVs and cruise missiles.
At the final stage, for long-range threats and early warning precautions, All Altitude Radar (AIR) and Early Warning Radar System (EWRS) are scalable Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) based air surveillance radars with advanced electronic protection capabilities.
In this sense, Aselsan has achieved the success of offering a wide range of radar solutions to the global market with sophisticated elements of air defence, which include the integration of sensors, command control and weapons running in an interoperable chain.
