Aselsan: Gökdeniz CIWS successfully completes acceptance tests

According to Aselsan, the Gökdeniz system offers effective defense against a wide range of threats, including anti-ship missiles, helicopters, UAVs, fighters, unmanned aerial vehicles, surface platforms and asymetric surface naval threats.

The Gökdeniz CIWS utilizes ATOM 35 mm airburst ammunition, which enhances its performance as point-defence weapon systems. This ammunition deploys a precise time-programmed fuse, creating a dense cloud of projectiles that effectively engages small and fast air targets.
