Cubic Defense has delivered the first-ever encrypted Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) system upgrade for 4th generation aircraft to the United States Air Force. This development follows a recent USAF production award and marks a significant advancement in secure, interoperable air combat training.

The upgrade introduces encrypted Time Space Position Information (TSPI) to the P5 Combat Training System (CTS), enabling seamless integration between 4th and 5th generation aircraft. According to Cubic, the system improves operational readiness while offering cost efficiency to its customers.

Paul Averna, Vice President and General Manager of Advanced Training Solutions at Cubic Defense, said: “The ACMI upgrade redefines the future path of the P5 and P6 programs, providing a solid foundation to the advanced training environment.” He added: “Proud to say, our amazing team went above and beyond, exceeded expectations by delivering the first kits ahead of schedule.”

The new System Security Upgrade (SSU) kits aim to encrypt sensitive maneuvering data across a large segment of the U.S. Air Force P5 pod fleet. Cubic noted that protecting proprietary information and enhancing global operational effectiveness has never been more critical.
