The Skyranger can engage both air and ground targets at short range, and is fitted with advanced search and tracking sensors for 360° surveillance. These sensors deliver precise fire control data, enhancing the system’s effectiveness in mobile defence.
Designed for versatility, the Skyranger can be integrated with a range of ground defence vehicles including the Boxer, Lynx, and Pandur. Work under the contract will be carried out by Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions.
Lynn M. Bamford, Chair and CEO of Curtiss-Wright Corporation, said: “We are proud to have been selected by Rheinmetall to provide our industry-leading power management and motion control technology in support of the highly mobile Skyranger air defense system.” She added: “This award reflects our ability to provide advanced and extremely rugged solutions that meet the demanding requirements of ground defence platforms operating in harsh military environments.”
