According to the Danish Armed Forces, the Leopard 2 main battle tank upgrade encompassed several enhancements, including a new and more effective 120mm cannon (L55A1), improved communication systems, enhanced protection, improved air conditioning, and various other improvements.
The process of modernizing Danish Leopard 2 tanks from the A5 to A7 standard lasted several years. The initial two Leopard 2A7 tanks were delivered by KMW in 2019. Subsequently, additional batches of tanks underwent upgrades and were delivered to the Danish military by the German defence company, the manufacturer of Leopard 2 tanks.
