Danish Armed Forces test new Israeli-made PULS rocket system [VIDEO]

By Defence Industry Europe

Denmark successfully tested its new Israeli-made PULS rocket launcher system on Danish soil for the first time. The test firing took place at the Oksbøl Shooting and Training Range, with the rocket launched approximately 10 kilometers into the North Sea. The launch was completed without an explosive payload and landed as planned, marking a critical step in integrating the system into the Danish Army.

The PULS system, supplied by Israel’s Elbit Systems, arrived in Denmark about a year ago. Since then, Danish soldiers and Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (DALO) technicians have been working closely with Elbit to ensure its integration. Brigadier General Henrik Lyhne, Deputy Commander of the Army, praised the system for its significant firepower and range, noting its essential role in enhancing Denmark’s military capabilities.

Test firings, which continued throughout the day, measured noise levels and exhaust gases. Lieutenant Colonel Henrik Hvilsom of DALO highlighted the collaborative effort involved in the successful test, involving the Danish Artillery Regiment, Defence Maintenance Service, Elbit, and DALO.

The PULS system, mounted on Tatra 815-7 Force 6×6 trucks, is expected to be operational by 2026. The Danish Ministry of Defence aims for full operational capability by 2025, following the delivery of all PULS and ATMOS systems.

Denmark’s procurement includes two contracts with Elbit Systems totaling USD 252 million for ATMOS and PULS systems, enhancing its artillery capabilities after donating CAESAR howitzers to Ukraine.
