Funding for the acquisition comes primarily from the Acceleration Fund, and all LMG M60E6 weapons are expected to be delivered by the end of 2025. The Army will be the main recipient of the newly purchased weapons.
DALO is also procuring a larger number of blank firing kits, enabling soldiers to train with blank ammunition during exercises. The expanded stock of weapons will provide greater availability for training, conversion and exercises.
Recently, DALO received thermal sights of the VooDoo-S type, which will be used on the Armed Forces’ light machine guns. With its advanced technology and robust design, the sight is described as a valuable partner for the weapon on the modern battlefield.
The light machine gun is primarily used by the Army, though other Armed Forces units and the Home Guard are also equipped with it. The weapon is designed to be carried and used by the gunner in long-lasting battlefield operations, but it can also be mounted on vehicles and ships.
