Department of State approves sale of AARGM-ER missiles to the Netherlands

On April 24, the Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced that the U.S. Department of State has approved a potential sale of AARGM-ER missiles to the Netherlands.

 

According to the DSCA’s press release, the Netherlands is interested in purchasing 265 AARGM-ER missiles along with spare parts, and logistic and training support services. The entire package is valued at a total of USD 700 million.

As Defence Industry Europe reported, the Dutch Minister of Defence intends to buy AARGM-ER missiles to equip its fleet of F-35 fighters.

 

 

To date, the US Ministry of Defence has approved the export sale of AARGM-ER missiles to four countries: Poland, the Netherlands, Finland, and Australia.

The producer of the AARGM-ER missiles is one of the American defence giants – Northrop Grumman.
