EDGE Group and Baykar sign cooperation agreement on unmanned technologies

EDGE Group has signed a Cooperation Agreement with Baykar, Turkey's prominent unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and artificial intelligence technology provider. The agreement, formalised at the SAHA Expo 2024, was signed by EDGE’s Managing Director and CEO, Hamad Al Marar, and Baykar’s CEO, Haluk Bayraktar, aiming to bolster mutual ties, enhance technical capabilities, and expand market influence.

 

The collaboration focuses on integrating EDGE’s guided munitions and payloads with Baykar’s high-performance UAV platforms, a process that Baykar will spearhead. EDGE will offer technical support throughout, including designing, manufacturing, and providing critical equipment to ensure seamless integration. This partnership seeks to address and meet growing global demand with efficiency while ensuring the reliability of supply chains and delivering high-quality solutions for customers.

In his statement, Hamad Al Marar expressed that the agreement with Baykar is a “significant milestone” in EDGE’s ongoing collaboration with Turkish defence companies. He highlighted the strategic importance of combining EDGE’s advanced solutions with Baykar’s proven platforms to address evolving market needs, particularly emphasising the advantages of working within Turkey’s robust defence sector. According to Al Marar, this partnership reflects EDGE’s commitment to agility, innovation, and supply chain security.

Baykar’s CEO, Haluk Bayraktar, echoed these sentiments, noting that the UAE has become Turkey’s largest trade partner in the Middle East. Bayraktar praised the collaboration, calling it an opportunity to support “independence and security” for both nations. He underscored the significance of joining forces with EDGE, one of the world’s leading defence organisations, to develop and deploy cutting-edge UAV solutions integrating EDGE’s smart munitions, a move set to enhance both countries’ defence capabilities and market reach.
