The procurement includes thousands of cutting-edge devices from Elbit’s software-defined radio (SDR) family, satellite communication systems, and data-links tailored for autonomous platforms. Additionally, the agreement will see the expansion of regional maintenance centres providing 24/7 support for combat forces, further ensuring operational continuity during critical missions.
In a collaborative effort over the past year, the DDR&D, Elbit Systems, and the IDF have developed innovative solutions for secure and encrypted communications. These new technologies are specifically designed to meet the evolving requirements of IDF units, focusing on flexibility, security, and adaptability in modern combat scenarios.
This procurement is part of a wider initiative spearheaded by Maj. Gen. (Res.) Eyal Zamir, the Director General of the IMOD. The strategy aims to bolster Israeli manufacturing independence, increase local production capacity, and ensure the IDF is well-equipped for current and future operational challenges.
