Elbit Systems Sweden receives order for SATCOM system

Elbit Systems Sweden has signed an agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to develop and deliver transportable satellite communication systems. The contract also includes options for FMV to order more systems.

Elbit Systems Sweden has signed an agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to develop and deliver transportable satellite communication systems. The contract also includes options for FMV to order more systems.

The order includes a trailer-based satellite communication system, the program is known as VSAT. The systems are designed to be easily transported and quickly commissioned, and to be fully operated remotely. The contract will be delivered during 2023 with options for further extension.



“We look forward to continuing to support Sweden’s defense through our contribution to digitalization. Elbit is a world leader in satellite communication, from stationary to mobile solutions and the VSAT project is an important entry-level project for us. In addition, the systems will follow NATO standards and be easily integrated with NATO’s existing communication network.” says Tobias Wennberg, CEO of Elbit Systems Sweden.
