The aircraft was ordered under a contract signed in late 2024 that includes training, support and spare parts. Uzbekistan Air Force commander Major General Akhmad Jamolovich Burkhonov attended the ceremony alongside Olimkhon Bakiyevich Rustamov, director of the state institution O‘ztextreyd.
“The delivery of the first C-390 Millennium represents a significant step forward for the modernization of the Uzbekistan Air Force,” Burkhonov said. “The aircraft’s exceptional performance, versatility and multi-mission capabilities will enable us to execute a broad range of missions with greater efficiency and readiness.”
“We are honored to deliver the first C-390 Millennium to the Uzbekistan Air Force and welcome Uzbekistan to the growing community of C-390 operators worldwide,” said Bosco da Costa Junior, president and chief executive of Embraer Defense & Security. The company said the delivery supports Uzbekistan’s efforts to modernise its air mobility fleet.
Embraer lists the C-390’s payload at 26 tonnes and its speed at 470 knots. The aircraft is designed for cargo and troop transport, airdrops, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian missions, including flights from temporary or unpaved runways.
With optional air-to-air refuelling equipment, the C-390 can operate as both a tanker and a receiver. Embraer said the aircraft has also been selected by air forces in Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East.
