Australian defence company Electro Optic Systems (EOS) intends to expand into the Middle East military market. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shielders Advanced Industries, a specialist in metal processing, profiling, and fabrication based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This agreement paves the way for forming a joint venture company in the future, EOS said in a statement.

According to the Australian company, the partnership with Shielders Advanced Industries aims to combine the expertise of the two firms and enhance the UAE’s defence production capabilities.

EOS said that under this collaboration, it would bring its combat-proven remote weapon system (RWS) solutions to the UAE market.

Australian company EOS is a manufacturer of proven and mature remote weapons systems capable of integrating with several platforms such as tactical off-road vehicles, armoured vehicles, and unmanned ground vehicles (UGV).

Systems manufactured by EOS are also destined for integration with maritime platforms. EOS’ offer includes high-energy laser weapons, combat and force protection systems, as well as next-generation solutions for countering unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS).
