Expando secures SEK 25 million in orders for rugged electronics in European missile systems

By Defence Industry Europe

Expando, a leading Nordic provider of rugged computing and high-reliability (Hi-Rel) electronics, has announced new orders worth over SEK 25 million. The contracts, placed by defence system manufacturers in NATO countries, underline the growing demand for robust and dependable military technology.

The company will supply a variety of rugged electronics, including Hi-Rel components, essential for advanced missile systems. These systems are designed to perform under extreme conditions, meeting stringent military requirements for land, sea, and air operations.

The deliveries, scheduled for 2025, come as NATO countries prioritise strengthening their defence capabilities. This marks a shift from the previous ‘just-in-time’ supply approach to a ‘just-in-case’ strategy, ensuring sufficient stockpiles of key military equipment.

Otto Johnson, CEO of Expando, highlighted the importance of these contracts in supporting NATO defence projects. He stated, “We are proud to supply leading manufacturers with military-grade electronics for advanced technologies that defend NATO countries.”

Expando has a well-established reputation in military and aerospace electronics, with 25 years of experience in delivering high-performance solutions. The company’s expertise spans rugged servers, defence electronics, and modified commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware.

These latest orders reinforce Expando’s position as a trusted supplier of durable electronics for critical defence applications. The company remains committed to providing high-quality solutions that meet the evolving needs of the defence sector.
