The HAD-F upgrade to the MkII model introduces a range of crucial technological improvements aimed at maintaining the Tiger’s relevance in modern combat. Notable features include a laser-guided rocket system, a jamming-resistant GPS, and IFF mode 5, allowing for improved interoperability with allied forces.
With this modernisation, the Tiger is now capable of seamless integration into the French Army Aviation’s digital operations network, allowing it to communicate and operate in synergy with other helicopters in the field. This acceptance is only the beginning, as France’s fleet of 67 combat helicopters is set to undergo continuous enhancement through the forthcoming Mid-Life Upgrade Programme to MkIII, a project shared with Spain.
During the ceremony, Darren Ash, Head of Programmes at OCCAR-EA, addressed the Airbus Helicopter assembly line team, commending their efforts in producing this state-of-the-art aircraft. Ash expressed that each worker could take immense pride in their role in delivering such a pivotal piece of military technology.
