This EUR 650 million order encompasses anti-aircraft tanks based on the 8×8 Boxer armored vehicle, outfitted with a 30 mm cannon and the latest Stinger guided missiles for enhanced drone defence.
Funded primarily by the Bundeswehr’s special fund, with Rheinmetall as the main contractor, this initiative also includes development costs and contributions totaling EUR 37 million.
The comprehensive package features a prototype, 18 production models, reloading and workshop vehicles, and simulators, with an option for an additional 30 systems.
Designed as an interim solution, these systems will integrate with the future NNbS air defence system, demonstrating a forward-looking approach to countering aerial threats.
The Skyranger 30 platform is distinguished by its modular design, capable of deploying a mix of effectors including automatic cannons, guided missiles, and a future high-energy laser variant, ensuring a versatile and robust defense against a broad spectrum of aerial threats.
