Hyundai Rotem delivers batch of seven K2 Black Panther tanks to Poland

By Defence Industry Europe

On May 19, the Polish Ministry of National Defence announced that Hyundai Rotem has delivered seven additional K2 Black Panther tanks to Poland. This means that the South Korean company has already supplied the Polish Armed Forces with 22 tanks of this type.

In total, under the contract signed in August 2022 between the Polish Armaments Agency and the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem, worth USD 3.37 billion, Poland will receive 180 K2 Black Panther tanks by the end of 2025.

The Polish Ministry of National Defence also plans to order an additional 820 K2PL tanks. According to the ministry’s announcement, these tanks will be produced by a Polish-South Korean armaments consortium formed by the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) and Hyundai Rotem. The agreement to establish the consortium was signed earlier this year in March. From the disclosed information, it appears that the consortium will soon submit an offer to the Polish Ministry of National Defence for the K2PL tanks.

The K2PL tank will be a variant of the K2 tank, which will be tailored to the specific requirements of the Polish Armed Forces.
