The Arkansas Advanced Propulsion Facilities campus is part of more than $1 billion designated for expanding the company’s Camden site. Work began in November 2025 and will support manufacturing for tactical missiles, air defense systems, hypersonic vehicles, interceptors and missile defense targets.
Crews have completed 90% of the civil construction earthwork for more than 20 building pads. That progress allows utilities to be installed from the main roads into the future production areas.
Construction has moved into building layouts, concrete slab foundations and metal shells. Interior fit-outs will follow before the facilities are handed over for operational readiness.
Over the next few months, crews are expected to complete foundations and metal building assembly for multiple buildings. Eight new propellant cure ovens are among the production equipment scheduled for installation during that period.
L3Harris continues to procure long-lead equipment through critical and final design reviews. Key equipment deliveries are scheduled to begin later this year.
The campus will use automated process controls, advanced material handling and autonomous mobile robots to move materials. L3Harris said these systems are designed to improve production flow and reduce cycle times.
Automated crane position identification and interlocked doors are intended to strengthen safety while supporting higher throughput. The campus design also includes provisions for additional buildings, including an optional second casting facility, to accommodate further demand.
The Arkansas project forms part of L3Harris’ multibillion-dollar investment in solid rocket motor manufacturing. Across Alabama, Arkansas and Virginia, the company is constructing approximately 60 new facilities and adding more than 1 million square feet to its manufacturing footprint.
