Lockheed Martin has inaugurated its first Digital Engagement Centre (DEC) outside the United States, located in Brussels. The facility was officially opened by Michael Williamson, President of Lockheed Martin International, in the presence of representatives from several NATO partner nations.

The Brussels DEC aims to enhance collaboration and planning between Lockheed Martin and its international partners. “The Brussels DEC is a demonstration of our commitment to deliver mission-focused defence capabilities and partner with our customers to understand their operational requirements and jointly plan solutions to deliver mission success,” Williamson wrote on social media.

The DEC provides an immersive and interactive environment for discussing security challenges and potential solutions. Its purpose is to support partners in developing integrated and interoperable defence systems that respond effectively to evolving threats.

“In today’s world, where threats are constantly evolving and technology moves faster than ever, modern deterrence forces need interoperability for their systems, no matter where they are produced,” Williamson explained. “They need a way to seamlessly connect everything, including platforms, networks, and people, to get the mission done.”

This new facility is expected to play a key role in shaping future deterrence technologies and fostering innovation across Europe and the NATO alliance. Williamson concluded, “I look forward to seeing this centre drive innovation, strengthen partnerships, and help shape the future of deterrence technology together with our partners in NATO and Europe.”
