Meprolight announced that it has been awarded a contract to supply a Southern European country’s armed forces with its MVO 1-8x28 riflescopes. The company said the agreement reflects rising international demand for its combat-proven optics and reinforces its record of providing precision, reliability and durability in demanding operational settings.

The MVO series is designed to deliver accuracy, clarity and rugged performance across tactical and professional shooting scenarios. The MVO 1-8×28, a low-power variable optic for short-to-mid-range use, is built to MIL-SPEC standards with a 34 mm main tube and is fully waterproof and fog-proof.

Its German SCHOTT multi-coated glass provides over 92 per cent light transmittance to maintain clarity and contrast in low light, glare and mirage conditions. The lens design supports consistent eye relief, a forgiving eye box and a wide field of view to improve situational awareness.

The scope includes red and green reticle illumination with eight brightness levels, NVG compatibility, a 12-hour auto-shutoff, a smooth magnification ring with an optional throw lever, and precise windage and elevation adjustments verified through live-fire testing. According to Meprolight, these features support both rapid target acquisition and controlled marksmanship.

The armed forces will use the riflescopes to strengthen accuracy, situational awareness and operational effectiveness across diverse missions. Their variable-power design allows seamless shifts between close-quarters and mid-range engagements, supporting work in complex environments and in extreme conditions.

“Armed forces today require optics that maintain clarity, stability and reliability under extreme stress, and the MVO series continues to prove itself in those environments”, said Meprolight Senior Vice President Golan Kalimi. “We’re proud to support this Southern European partner, delivering a solution that ensures that soldiers can operate with confidence and precision, even in the most challenging conditions.”
