Swedish defence technology company MilDef has signed a contract worth 52 million SEK with US-based L3Harris Technologies for the delivery of rugged IT systems to a NATO member nation. This marks MilDef’s largest single delivery of its 19”/2 form-factor technology to the US market to date.

The agreement supports an armoured vehicle programme and includes the supply of custom-built servers, Cisco-based routers and fibre switches, tailored to meet L3Harris’ system requirements. MilDef’s equipment will form a key part of the communications backbone within the vehicles.

“MilDef has collaborated closely with the L3Harris engineering team to develop 19”/2 rugged computer servers and Cisco-based routers & switches to be integrated in new armoured vehicles as part of the critical tactical communications & networking backbone for delivery to a NATO member country,” said Jim Rimay, Managing Director, MilDef US.

The company specialises in ruggedised IT hardware for deployment in extreme environments, supporting mission-critical defence systems globally. The project highlights MilDef’s role in the digital transformation of modern battlefield capabilities.

“This is a very important contract for MilDef on the US market and a testament to our strong offering in IT equipment for data driven mission-critical defense systems. We are proud to see our technology deliver digitalization powers to a large and very important defense project to be delivered to Europe,” said Daniel Ljunggren, CEO and President, MilDef Group.
