The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has selected MilDef to supply new IT equipment as part of the ongoing modernisation and rearmament of the Swedish Armed Forces. The order, valued at SEK 126 million, will cover IT solutions aimed at enhancing the digitisation of the Swedish Army, with deliveries scheduled for 2025.

FMV, responsible for procuring, developing, and delivering equipment and services to the Swedish Armed Forces, has maintained a long-standing collaboration with MilDef since 1997. The latest contract will provide the Armed Forces with advanced technology to upgrade command-and-control systems and strengthen operational capabilities.

All equipment will be developed and manufactured by MilDef in Sweden, ensuring that the Armed Forces benefit from local expertise and innovation. Daniel Ljunggren, President and CEO of MilDef, emphasised the significance of the partnership, stating, “With a long and strong relationship with FMV, we work closely together to contribute to a stronger defense of Sweden, with quality and speed.”

Ljunggren further highlighted the impact of the new systems, saying, “With increased digitization and secure communications via our systems, the Swedish Armed Forces are now taking important steps towards increased effect and defense capability, something we are proud to contribute to.” The agreement marks a strategic step forward in Sweden’s efforts to bolster national defence through technological advancement.
