C-HOBS allows aircrews to select the precise altitude at which a munition detonates. Crews can therefore adjust its effects to suit different targets, missions and operating environments.
The sensor combines improved radar-guided performance with manual and cockpit-selectable burst-height settings. L3Harris said it also includes advanced sensing features intended to provide greater flexibility during operations.
The award comes while L3Harris is increasing U.S. production capacity for proximity fuzes and sensors. The company said the investment is intended to meet growing military demand for cost-effective, proven counter-threat capabilities and support production at a wartime footing.
