Milrem Robotics showcases THeMIS Cargo UGV at SecD-Day 2025 in Helsinki

By Defence Industry Europe

Milrem Robotics, a global leader in robotics and autonomous systems, is presenting its combat-proven THeMIS unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) at SecD-Day 2025 in Helsinki. The two-day event, held at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, is a key defence, security, and aerospace exhibition focused on strengthening Finland’s comprehensive security.

The THeMIS platform is widely recognised as the most extensively used UGV in its size category. It has been actively deployed in modern battlefields, including Ukraine, where it has supported military operations in the ongoing war with Russia.

The cargo variant of the THeMIS UGV is designed for transporting supplies and equipment across challenging operational environments. This versatile system has gained global recognition for its adaptability, proven efficiency in combat scenarios, and cost-effectiveness in real-world conflict zones.

In Ukraine, the THeMIS Cargo has played a crucial role in providing logistical support and enhancing the mobility and survivability of forces on the ground. Its deployment has significantly increased operational efficiency, reducing risks for soldiers by carrying essential supplies across dangerous terrain.

Milrem Robotics’ participation at SecD-Day 2025 follows the company’s recent expansion into Finland with the establishment of a subsidiary in Helsinki. This move aims to strengthen collaboration with European defence partners and expand its presence in the Nordic region.

“We are pleased to showcase the UGV that is saving lives in Ukraine and to introduce our other capabilities at SecD-Day in Finland,” said Kimmo Laine, managing director of Milrem Robotics Finland. “By expanding into Finland, we aim to enhance partnerships with Finnish defence institutions and commercial actors while contributing to the development of innovative solutions tailored to the Finnish Defence Forces’ needs.”
