The NGAD aircraft is expected to offer significant advances in range, survivability, lethality and adaptability. It represents a sixth-generation fighter jet that aims to set a new benchmark in global air combat capability.
Steve Parker, interim president and chief executive of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, confirmed the company has made its largest-ever investment in defence to prepare for this programme. He stated that Boeing is ready to deliver a highly innovative and capable aircraft to meet the Air Force’s requirements.
Boeing’s history in combat aviation spans nearly 100 years, with previous aircraft including the P-51 Mustang, F-15 Eagle and F/A-18 Hornet. This new contract continues that legacy and signals a pivotal moment in the evolution of military aviation.
Due to national security and export regulations, further details about the NGAD platform remain classified.
