The new systems are designed to support critical flight operations by analysing data, simulating scenarios, assessing risks, and planning routes in real time. These capabilities enable warfighters to make informed decisions faster, improving mission effectiveness and safety.
A major part of the award includes a $114 million contract with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center for the Combat Air Force Global Strike Mission Planning System. This programme equips U.S. airmen with updated mission planning software that integrates near real-time threat and situational awareness data.
Under a $55 million contract with the U.S. Navy, Northrop Grumman continues as the lead integrator for the Collaborative Mission Planning Continuum Integration and SAFe Support programme. The system replaces the legacy Joint Mission Planning System – Maritime, offering a fully integrated planning environment for Naval Aviators operating from ships or shore.
For the U.S. Marine Corps, Northrop Grumman is developing a mission planning system for the CH-53 King Stallion helicopter under a nearly $15 million contract with Naval Air Systems Command. The new system provides real-time collaboration and improved digital interoperability to support mission planning and operations.
These efforts build on Northrop Grumman’s more than five decades of expertise in mission planning and nuclear command and control systems. The company’s technologies are designed to be advanced, resilient, and mobile, ensuring readiness for any mission at any time.
“Building on our strong foundation of performance, Northrop Grumman continues to be the premier provider of mission planning systems for the U.S. government,” said Kenn Todorov, vice president and general manager, command and control & weapons integration at Northrop Grumman. “We’re equipping our customers with modernized mission planning tools, providing our warfighters with enhanced decision-making power to ensure they can make the right decisions at the right time.”
