The Finnish defence company said the cooperation is intended to strengthen the participation of Czech industry in the proposed programme. Patria also highlighted its existing long-term partnership in the Czech Republic with STV GROUP.

According to the company, the agreements aim to establish long-term industrial cooperation covering production, maintenance and future vehicle development. The proposed framework also includes technology transfer and capability development for Czech state-owned and private enterprises.

Patria said it is offering the latest version of its Armoured Modular Vehicle platform, the Patria AMV XP 8×8 CZ, for the Czech programme. The AMV family is already in service with armed forces in multiple countries and has operational experience in different environments.

The company stated that the proposed vehicle variants are intended to meet the Czech Armed Forces’ operational requirements and delivery schedules. The programme would also include local maintenance and lifecycle support capabilities in the Czech Republic.

Panu Routila, president and chief executive of Patria, said the company’s experience in technology transfer formed a central part of its business model. “Patria has decades of proven expertise in the development of armoured vehicles, and technology transfer is a natural part of our business model,” he said.

“Patria AMV XP 8×8 is the vehicle that we have developed the longest: It is the state-of-the-art modular and robust armoured wheeled vehicle providing superior fire power, protection, and mobility,” Routila added. “We are delighted to have new countries interested in our AMV XP family and always look forward to fostering enduring partnerships.”

Jussi Järvinen, executive vice president of Patria’s Protected Mobility business area, said the agreements reflected the company’s intention to maximise Czech industrial involvement. “The signed Memoranda of Understanding with key state enterprises underscore our commitment to close cooperation with the Czech defence industry and to maximising its participation,” he said.

“We see Czech companies as strong partners, including for the global supply chain,” Järvinen added. “By combining our experience in technology transfer with the capabilities of Czech private and state-owned enterprises, we can deliver an efficient and sustainable solution that strengthens security of supply and meets the Czech Armed Forces’ requirements.”
